Today I made a decision that was very difficult for me, to push back the release date of “This Too Shall Pass” into somewhere mid-August. I know, rationally, that there’s not some throng of fans chomping at the bit for the album to be released, but I’m excited enough about it that delaying it is a bit of a kick in the dick.

When I first started posting clips of TTSP songs on social media, someone asked me when the album was dropping, and I said “hopefully by the end of the year.” That was September of 2022. I think about this a lot.

The album is done, but I’ve simply missed the window to get it uploaded to my aggregator in time for it to be delivered and properly submitted for promotion by the end of July. Everything in my being wants to just release the damn thing today, but in the algorithm-driven age we live in that’s pretty much dooming the album to flop, and by flop I don’t mean fail to sell, I mean fail to reach ears. I can happily live with continuing to not make a cent off of music, but I’ve never been shy about the fact that I speak to be heard.

So, mid-August. I’ll post the exact date as soon as I have it.

I’ll be honest: this sucks for me.
