Guitar Tracking Done

That’s a wrap on guitars. Took longer than I had hoped, but I’m very happy with these tracks. The whole “one day a week” to record thing I’m making work is not my favorite, but Life doesn’t give a shit. Guitars are going to be re-amped, so it’s premature of me to say I’m happy with the tone, but I am, regardless.

When I updated the Studio 92 computer my old interface fully shit the bed in terms of compatibility. I suppose that’s what happens when you keep a PC and antiquated OS on life support for over a decade. It’s all turned out for the better though. When comparing raw guitar tracks from previous recordings, it’s clear to me how much more tonal clarity I’m getting from this new interface. Add to that the fact that I’m finally using plugins that aren’t old enough to drive, and it makes for a better time for me.

I was originally going to try to keep a video studio diary to release as I went, but frankly, it was just adding frustration and getting in the way of progress, so I elected to just focus on getting the album done. Not sorry.

Bass tracking starts next week. Time to rattle some windows.
